Meghan Markle is due to give birth to the newest member of the royal family any day now, and one store in Bethel is taking the opportunity to celebrate — and all to benefit a good cause.

UK Gourmet, a food store specializing in British and Irish foods, is throwing a baby shower for Prince Harry and Meghan Markle. While they’re celebrating with special treats and commemorative items, they’re also collecting baby goods to donate to the Women’s Center of Greater Danbury.

“Harry and Meghan are very charitable people and they really love to go out and try to work with the community,” said Lisa Whitmore, owner of UK Gourmet. “We just thought, what a great way to reach out to the Women’s Center and let people know more about them as well.”

While the newest royal baby is due any day now, UK Gourmet is collecting items for the women’s shelter and resource center throughout the month of May.

They’re also celebrating with baby scones by Robin Grubard of Daily Fare. UK Gourmet teamed up with the baker last year for elderflower and lemon scones inspired by Harry and Meghan’s wedding cake.

UK Gourmet also joined forces with nearby Prime Pub, who made pink and blue cocktails, for a boy or girl; one dollar from every drink will be donated to the Women’s Center.
