BRIDGEPORT, Conn. (WTNH) — Bridgeport Police are investigating a shooting that has been ruled a homicide at the PT Barnum apartment complex early Friday morning.
Police said they were called to the scene around 2:00 a.m. Friday.
When police arrived near building 4 on the complex, they were met by a large crowd. Police said they found 21-year-old Teon Kelly of Bridgeport lying on the ground suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. Kelly was transported to the hospital, where he was pronounced dead on arrival.
Police believe several dozen people were present when the shooting occurred. Police said people on the scene were not cooperating with officers when they were trying to identify witnesses.
Detectives processed a crime scene overnight and are reviewing video evidence.
This is the City’s 10th homicide of 2020, according to police.
