Bridgeport police investigating homicide of 37-year-old woman


Bridgeport Police are investigating a homicide after a woman was shot and killed on Tuesday night

Police say that at 7:47pm, shots were fired at 660 William Street in Bridgeport.

Patrol officers immediately responded to the scene and located a 37-year-old woman on the second floor of a home at the location. The woman had at least one gunshot wound to the torso.

According to police, the victim may have been shot through a second floor window. 

The victim was transported to Bridgeport Hospital, where she was pronounced dead shortly after.

Detectives are processing a crime scene at this location and are interviewing witnesses. They are unsure if the victim was the intended target.
