Bridgeport police will take in or buy your private firearm through gun buyback program

The Bridgeport Police Department is hosting a gun buyback program this weekend.

Bridgeport police are starting the gun buyback program in a push to get guns off the streets. It will be held from 10 a.m. – 3 p.m. at the Community Services Office in Sylvan Avenue.

People can safely turn in guns or sell privately owned firearms to police. The city isn’t saying how much it will pay for those guns.
