FAIRFIELD, Conn. (WTNH)– A brother and sister were killed after their car went airborne and crashed into a tree in Fairfield, early Wednesday morning.
Police say at around 1:30 a.m., a 2010 Honda Accord, driven by 33-year-old Brandon Dupee, went airborne and crashed into a tree on Sunfield Lane, after exiting I-95 onto Mill Plain Road. Dupee and his passenger, 31-year-old Lindsay Dupee, were both pronounced dead on scene. They were brother and sister from Stratford.
Police say extrication was required for both victims and they were released to the Medical Examiner for further investigation. While the cause of the crash is unknown, police say it appears that the vehicle quickly or abruptly moved to exit the highway.
The crash remains under investigation by the Fairfield Police Crash Reconstruction Unit.
