Former Monroe massage therapist acquitted of sexual assault charge

MONROE, Conn. (WTNH) — A former massage therapist in Monroe has been cleared of a sexual assault charge stemming from an August 2014 incident.

Bruce Smith, of Rhinebeck, New York, was acquitted of a sexual assault in the 4th degree charge on September 21st. Smith was arrested in October of 2014 as a result of a police investigation, after a patron claimed that he had touched her inappropriately while performing a massage on her at his place of business in August of 2014.Original Story: Massage therapist arrested for inappropriate touching

Smith turned himself in on a warrant for Sexual Assault in the 4th degree on October 6th, 2014. After almost two years, officials at Bridgeport Superior Court confirmed to News 8 Monday that Smith was acquitted from the charge in his case.
