There has been a shake-up in leadership at the Maritime Aquarium at Norwalk.
On Monday, the aquarium announced that it had “relieved Maureen Hanley as president and chief executive officer.”
Hanley had previously arrived in November of 2018.
It is not known what prompted her departure.
In a statement, the aquarium said “…Leadership will remain focused on animal care, environmental education and marine conservation.”
It added that the process had not been started to select a new president who would be the ninth in the aquarium’s 31-year history.
