NORWALK Conn. (WTNH) — No one was hurt after a car caught fire along the Merritt Parkway Tuesday morning.

Around 10:30 a.m., police and fire crews responded to reports of a car fire on the Merritt Parkway north bound between exits 40 and 41. When firefighters arrived on the scene they found the front end of the car fully engulfed in flames.

The occupants of the vehicle were able to pull over and escape the car before the fire overtook the entire car. Norwalk police said there were no injuries.

Fire crews were able to quickly extinguish the fire. The car has since been removed from the roadway.
