Norwalk man arrested after stalking woman

A Norwalk man has been arrested after police say he stalked a female in his vehicle and on foot in Newtown.

Officials say 20-year-old Francesco Gurnari of Norwalk, followed a woman to several businesses in town, and followed her to her home. When the victim realized she was being stalked, she called police in fear for her safety. She was able to provide police with a description of Gurnari and his vehicle.

According to police, the Gurnari did not know the victim.

Gurnari confessed to police that he not only followed this particular woman, but also admitted to stalking other women in the past.

Gurnari was also arrested earlier this month after exposing himself in front a female at a local gas station in Monroe. Charges from that case are still pending.

Lt. Aaron Bahamonde of the Newtown Police Department released a statement saying in part,

“The victims were able to remain calm in these most dangerous and high stress situations and provide police with all the necessary information to help identify and locate this individual.”
