Norwalk PD holds news conference on 1986 rape and murder case


The Norwalk Police Department held a news conference on Tuesday to discuss the 1986 rape and murder case of 11-year-old Kathleen Flynn. 

53-year-old Marc Karun was in court Monday. Karun is accused of committing raping and murdering Kathleen Flynn in 1986. Karun was apprehended at his home in Maine last week and was then extradited to Connecticut over the weekend.

Investigators say technology improvements along with DNA testing led them to the suspect.

He is now being held on a $5 million bond. 

Karun has also been convicted of four similar attacks on women.
