According to officials, on Tuesday, units were informed that an individual had their credit card information stolen. That information was then used to make several online purchases.
Police said two packages were sent to a residence on Gower Road in New Canaan, which was not the residence of the victim of credit card theft.
The suspect then sent a text to an individual at that home asking if they had the packages, explaining that they were accidentally delivered to that address.
The suspect, later identified as 36-year-old Oshane Ford, was taken into custody when he attempted to retrieve the packages.
He was charged with identity theft and larceny and was held on a $25,000 bond.
