School bus driver charged for alleged raping child over many years

BRIDGEPORT, Conn. (WTNH)  –  A 39-year-old man has been charged with first-degree sexual assault of a minor. According to Trumbull Public schools the suspect is a school bus driver in their town.

The Connecticut Judicial Branch website shows that Ricardo Julien was arrested by Bridgeport Police on Monday and was arraigned for first-degree sexual assault, risk of injury to a child and fourth-degree sexual assault.

Police say the sexual assaults began when the girl was five to six-years-old and occurred over many years. She is now 17. Police also say the girl was never a student on Julien’s bus.

A statement from Trumbull Public Schools says Julien is a Dattco School Bus driver and he was immediately removed from a driving a bus in Trumbull when they heard he was under investigation.  The statement also says there is no allegation that relates in any way to a Trumbull student.

There is no word as to how Julien and the victim know each other.
