Stamford PD: Man arrested for driving drunk and hitting pedestrian


A Stamford man is arrested and accused of hitting a pedestrian while driving drunk.

Police say 50-year-old Carlos Campo hit the person on Cove Road near Van Buskirk Avenue early Saturday morning.

Campo then put the injured man in his car, drove about a half a mile, dropped the victim off, and drove away.

Campo was eventually located by police and was arrested after he admitted to the accident.

Campo’s charges include driving under the influence, 2nd Degree Assault with a vehicle. and evading responsibility.

The 22-year-old victim has serious but non-life threatening injuries.

He was held on a $10,000 bond.
