Teen arrested after driving too slow and erratically

NEWTOWN, Conn. (WTNH)  –  Newtown Police arrested a teenage driver on various charges after the teen was scene driving too slow and erratically.

Newtown Police are not identifying the 17 year old driver due to their age but do say the driver is charged with operating under the influence of drugs or alcohol, use of drug paraphernalia and possession of controlled substance: narcotics.

According to police on May 10th at approximately 10:07 p.m. a caller to 911 reported an erratic driver on South Main Street.  The caller followed the vehicle and told police that an older model Honda Civic was traveling approximately 20 MPH in a 40 MPH zone and was also crossing over the fog and yellow lines, swerving “all around” and braking and stopping randomly before turning into into a Stop & Shop parking lot.

Police arrived & located the vehicle and placed the driver under arrest.
