Governor Lamont discusses loss of a Metro North power transformer

WESTPORT, Conn. (WTNH) — On Thursday, March 28th a large power transformer that serves the Metro North New Haven line failed.

Due to the transformer loss, the commuter rail line is currently operating at 50 percent of the normal electrical powers, resulting in delays.

Governor Ned Lamont held a news conference in Westport on Friday at 5 p.m. regarding the failure and the steps toward modernizing Connecticut’s aging infrastructure.
