Hartford Police arrest 9 in undercover prostitution sting

Hartford Police have arrested 9 people in connection with an undercover prostitution sting Wednesday.

Detectives from Vice & Narcotics, with the assistance of Hartford patrol officers, initiated the sting in the city’s south end after receiving several complaints of street level prostitution going on in the area.

Detectives setup surveillance, and observed numerous prostitutes working the area. An undercover officer posing as a “John” was sent into the area. Once solicitation deals were accepted, arrests were made.

By the end of the operation, officers made a total of 9 arrests. Officials say seven of those suspects were adult females who were charged with prostitution. Two other people were arrested for active warrants.

All suspects were were booked and processed.
