10-year-old boy missing from Hartford found safe

A missing 10-year-old boy from Hartford has been found safe on Wednesday morning.

Hartford police issued a silver alert for Jose Ortiz, who was considered an endangered runaway and had been missing from Hartford since Tuesday, March 12th. 

Police say Ortiz has since returned home. He has been evaluated and is safe. 

The Hartford Police Special Investigative Division will review the case.

Ortiz is described as a Hispanic boy, who is 4’07” tall, weighs 80 lbs. and has brown hair and brown eyes.

According to authorities, Ortiz was wearing a white t-shirt, a white and blue zip up hooded sweatshirt and white and light blue Nike Jordan sneakers when he was missing.
