2 charged after stolen vehicle recovery in Hartford

Two people have been charged after Hartford Police recovered a stolen vehicle on Thursday.

Officers were responding to a string of burglaries in the southeast area of Hartford when they observed a parked car on Winship Street.

The 2008 Chrysler 300 was identified as a stolen vehicle from Vernon. As officials approached the occupied vehicle, police were able to detain both occupants without incident.

The two were later identified as 22-year-old Jose Pedraza of Hartford and 24-year-old Angel Viera.

Pedraza is being charged with criminal impersonation, while Viera is facing charges of larceny and tampering with a motor vehicle.
