2 injured after car crashes into utility pole in Hartford


HARTFORD, Conn. (WTNH) — Two people were injured after a car crashed into a utility pole on Blue Hills Avenue in Hartford on Monday night.

The crash took place just after 10 p.m. on Blue Hills Avenue at Holcomb Street. Police say a Honda Accord traveling at a high rate of speed lost control and crashed into a utility pole.

According to police, the passenger was ejected out of the car and landed on the pavement approximately 20 feet from the vehicle.

The passenger and the driver suffered non-life threatening injuries and were taken to Saint Francis Hospital for treatment. Their identities have not been released.

Blue Hills Avenue was closed for a short time while the utility pole was determined to be safe.

The crash remains under investigation.
