2 injured after car hits DMV Inspector’s vehicle on Route 3 in Glastonbury

Two men were injured after a car hit a Connecticut DMV Inspector‘s vehicle that was parked in the shoulder of Route 3 in Glastonbury on Thursday morning.

Police say that at around 6:10 a.m., 55-year-old Christoper Scott St-Jacques, of Wethersfield, a CT DMV Inspector, was parked in the shoulder of Route 3 southbound, between the off and on ramps of the Main Street exit.

A Mazda, driven by 89-year-old Augustus Bosselman, of East Hampton, was traveling in the right lane of Route 3 at that time, when he drifted from the travel portion and into the shoulder, colliding into the rear of St-Jacques’ Ford Taurus.

Both St-Jacques and Bosselman reported pain and were taken to the hospital for an evaluation. Their vehicles were also damaged and towed from the scene.

Bosselman was issued an infraction for failure to maintain proper lane.

The accident caused delays on Route 3 earlier but the scene has since been cleared.
