Hartford

Three people are facing charges after a gift shop armed robbery in Bloomfield.

According to police, on Monday around 12:15 p.m., units responded to Kim’s Gift Shop at 297 Cottage Grove Road following a report of an armed robbery.

Officials say two men armed with a shotgun and hammer entered the store, smashed glass display cases and stole jewelry. They say the third man stood guard outside the entry of the store.

Police say the store’s owner confronted the suspects and was punched in the face and head.

As the suspects attempted to flee the scene in a vehicle, they were apprehended by officers.

Police arrested 22-year-old Favion Williams and 22-year-old Tracy Trice, both of Hartford, along with 20-year-old Austin Kerr of West Hartford.

One suspect was taken to a local hospital for treatment.

The shop’s owner suffered minor injuries during the incident but is expected to be okay.
