Three people were arrested during an attempted burglary at a gas station in Cromwell early Tuesday morning.
Just after 1:10 a.m., Cromwell officers received a 9-1-1 call from a concerned citizen reporting what he believed was a burglary in progress at the Sunoco station at 164 West Street. An officer canine unit responded and saw the suspects in the store.
The officer and his canine partner entered the store. The officer identified himself, and told the suspects to get on the ground as we has drawing his weapon.
Three suspects were taken into custody without incident when other officers arrived. Police say the car the suspects were using had been stolen out of West Haven.
Officers arrested 22-year-old Danny Melendez, of New Britain, 23-year-old Angus McLoud, of Bristol, as well as a juvenile. All three were charged with multiple crimes, including burglary, criminal mischief, and larceny. No bail or court date information was released.
