HARTFORD, Conn. (WTNH) — There’s a new partnership between Saint Francis Hospital and the Yard Goats. They plan to give babies born at the hospital a Yard Goats-branded onesie.
Meet baby Zoe. She was born at Saint Francis Hospital in the middle of the pandemic to a front-line worker.
“Even in the world of obstetrics, where we have the privilege of bringing new life into this world, the hardships of the pandemic have impacted us all,” said Anneliese Stahl, a Nurse Manager for Saint Francis Hospital.
Now, 6-month-old Zoe is the first baby in a new Yard Goats onesie.
“Very challenging but lucky to have good providers that keep us safe during this crazy time,” Dr. Lauren Louis said.
The onesie is just one part of this promotion. It actually goes beyond that. Zoe and Yard Goats mascot Chompers is highlighting a new partnership between the ballpark and the hospital.
“We say at the Yard Goats we’re in the business of putting smiles on people’s faces. This year it’s going to be a little challenging with the smiles under the masks,” said Yard Goats President Tim Restall. “But we’re still going to do the same thing.”
It’s a light at the end of the tunnel after a long year. Now, babies born at Saint Francis will get a free Yard Goats onesie and could be featured on the team’s promotional pages and materials.
“Zoe is very excited to be the first baby in a Yard Goats onesie,” said Dr. Louis.
