The Bloomfield Police Department is investigating a serious motor vehicle crash that happened Friday afternoon.

Officials have confirmed with News 8 that an occupant of one vehicle was transported to a local hospital with serious injuries. Three occupants of a second vehicle were not hurt. While they say these three left the scene prior to police arrival, it is unclear if officials have deemed this a hit-and-run incident.

Police say this is an ongoing investigation. If you witnessed this accident, contact Bloomfield PD at (860) 242-5501.

There is no word on the current condition of the victim who was transported to the hospital.

This is a developing story. News 8 will bring you any updates as they become available.
