Connecticut officials holding emergency meeting to address spike in overdose deaths

State officials are working to address the recent spike in deadly overdoses in the Hartford

U.S. Senator Richard Blumenthal is holding an emergency meeting at the Asylum Hill Congregational Church on Monday.

Sen. Blumenthal will meet with elected leaders, state officials, law enforcement, and addiction specialists.

So far this year, 42 people have died in Hartford due to drug overdoses. Seven of those deaths happened just last week.
