BRISTOL, Conn. (WTNH) — Crews responded to a house fire Wednesday afternoon on Judson Avenue in Bristol.

Fire crews arrived at the home at 1 p.m. and observed smoke and fire on the front and left side of the home.

Officials said the four residents of the home self-evacuated which allowed the fire crews to concentrate on the blaze.

The fire spread to the roof which made the blaze difficult to extinguish, officials said.

One resident of the home was taken to the hospital for evaluation and one firefighter was evaluated for minor injuries.
