CT NAACP calling for release of dashcam footage in fatal Wethersfield officer-involved shooting

The Hartford State’s Attorney has taken over the case regarding a fatal officer-involved shooting in Wethersfield.

Connecticut State Police said 18-year-old Anthony Jose Vega Cruz died Monday night as a result of his injuries.

Wethersfield police said he drove at one of their officers in a car that they believed was stolen.

The State Police Major Crimes Squad is helping with the investigation.

The Connecticut NAACP is calling for the FBI to take over the investigation into both the New Haven and Wethersfield officer-involved shootings.

The CT NAACP also wants the release of dashboard camera footage from the Wethersfield incident.
