Driver sent to hospital after crashing into vacant building, vehicle catches fire in Bloomfield

A driver is recovering after crashing their vehicle in Bloomfield on Monday.

According to officials, just before 5:00 p.m., officials responded to the area of Tunxis Avenue and Wintonbury Avenue after receiving a report of a motor vehicle collision.

Police say one of the vehicles involved crashed into a vacant building at 11 Tunxis Avenue and that the collision caused the vehicle to catch fire.

The operator of the vehicle was treated on scene for minor injuries before being transported to a local hospital.

The collision remains under investigation.
