SOUTHINGTON, Conn. (WTNH) — A man is dead after crashing into a tree Monday morning in Southington.

James Michlewski, 79, of Southington, hit a tree just before 6 a.m. on Meriden Avenue, police said.

Meriden Avenue between Oakland and Southington avenues is currently closed as the investigation continues.
