Crews are investigating what sparked a fire in a Southington home on Tuesday morning.

Fire officials say that the blaze broke out just after 1 a.m at a house on East Summer Street. Upon arrival, crews reported heavy smoke showing from the single story ranch style home.

According to the fire department, no one was injured.

Despite the extreme cold and large amount of ice in the area, firefighters were able to knock the fire out within 30 minutes.

The cause of the fire is unknown at this time.
