Gas odor evacuates hotel in Hartford

HARTFORD, Conn. (WTNH)– A hotel in Hartford has been evacuated due to a gas odor on Tuesday morning.

Hartford Fire Department Chief Ortiz confirms that there is a gas odor in the area of The Goodwin Hotel, at 1 Haynes Street, but it’s unclear if the odor is coming from the hotel.

The Goodwin Hotel has been evacuated as a precaution. It is unclear when guests and staff will be able to return to the building.

Crews are on the scene checking gas meters. The incident remains under investigation.
