HARTFORD, Conn. (WTNH) — Police responded to multiple reports of suspicious packages in the City of Hartford on Thursday.

Hartford police and the bomb squad responded to a suspicious package Thursday morning at a building at 200 Retreat Avenue.

The building was evacuated by security and the bomb squad responded after the report of a suspicious package found.

According to police, the package was just a med kit that was left in a bathroom. Police have since cleared the scene.

A second suspicious package incident was reported at the state capitol.

State Capitol Police say they were told about several suspicious-looking packages left on the capitol grounds.

They say their first look at the packages showed nothing to worry about for the public or people in and around the capitol building, but the investigation will continue with the help of CSP.
