Hartford police investigate homicide on Martin Street, victim identified

HARTFORD, Conn. (WTNH) — Police investigated an early morning homicide in the Capital City Saturday.

According to police, the shooting occurred near 42 Martin St.

Police have identified the victim as 27-year-old Kwadir Paris.

After the incident, a family member tried to bring Paris to the hospital but crashed into a pole on Albany Avenue and Vine Street.

Paris suffered from one gunshot wound to the lower back area, and later succumbed to his injuries at the hospital, according to police.

Detectives were on scene around 2 a.m. Saturday morning.

Police believe the victim was targeted. Police have not named a suspect yet.

This is an ongoing investigation. Anyone with information is asked to call Hartford police.

This is Hartford’s first homicide of the year.
