Police identify man killed in Hartford stabbing

HARTFORD, Conn. (WTNH)– Hartford police have identified the man who was killed in a stabbing on Saturday evening.

Police say that around 6:34 p.m., officers responded to 194 Maple Avenue for the report of a person stabbed. Upon arrival, the victim, identified as 48-year-old Bryan Monroe, was found suffering multiple stab wounds throughout his body.

He was taken to Hartford Hospital where he died from his injuries a short time later.

The homicide remains under investigation by members of Major Crimes and Crime Scene Divisions.

This is Hartford’s 21st homicide of 2020, and the fifth involving a knife/bladed weapon.
