HARTFORD, Conn. (WTNH) — Hartford police are investigating the city’s 29th homicide of the year.
Hartford police Lt. Aaron Boisvert said the victim, 32-year-old Benjamin Velasquez, was found stabbed to death in his York Street apartment.
Boisvert said a car was towed from the scene and investigators are gathering evidence and going through surveillance footage.
The city had 26 homicides at this time last year, Boisvert said. Although the number of homicides is up this year, he said the number of non-fatal shootings is down.
