HARTFORD, Conn. (WTNH) — Police and fire crews responded to Park Street and Bartholomew Avenue in Hartford Thursday after a gas line was struck.

Officials from Connecticut Natural Gas were on scene to contain the leak and learned that a crew from Mather Corporation was excavating in the area and struck a gas line, according to Hartford police.

Roads in the area were temporarily closed for safety and have since reopened.

Police said no injuries were reported and no evacuations were necessary.
