PLAINVILLE, Conn. (WTNH) – A man was killed in a wrong-way crash on I-84 westbound in Plainville Wednesday afternoon.
State police said around 2 p.m., troopers were advised of a wrong-way driver on I-84 westbound in the area of exit 33, which caused a crash.
According to state police, Walter Turner, 43, of Berlin was traveling east in the westbound lanes and struck a vehicle that was traveling westbound in the left lane head-on.
Turner sustained serious injuries in the crash and was pronounced dead on scene, state police said.
The driver of the other vehicle, Vanessa Gonzalez of Waterbury, was taken to New Britain Hospital for the treatment of possible minor injuries.
The crash remains under investigation.
