Interstate 84 reopens in Hartford following vehicle fire

Car catches fire on I-84 in Hartford

A vehicle fire on Interstate 84 in Hartford  caused issues for drivers on Tuesday morning.

According to officials, the highway was closed between exits 50 and 48 on the westbound side and only the left lanes were open at exits 50 and 51 on the eastbound side.

However, the scene has since been cleared and the road has reopened to traffic. 

The cause of the fire is not known at this time.

Officials say the driver is out of the vehicle and is not injured.

The accident remains under investigation.
