Kids in Bristol are learning what it takes to grow their own food. There was a ribbon cutting Friday morning for the Bristol All Heart Gardens Project.
During spring break, the folks in the city’s Public Works Department built a garden at the South Side School.
Now, students are getting a chance to do a little gardening.
“Our goal is just to get the kids out, involved, get their hands dirty, grow something and then the vegetable will be the final project,” said Lindsey Rivers, Public Works Analyst.
The kids will be able to take home what they grow this fall. Organizers hope to someday have a garden set up at every elementary school in Bristol.
