Authorities have arrested a man they say was working for a second company while out of work collecting Workers’ Compensation.
Officials say 34-year-old Ronald Gordillo, was arrested Friday by Inspectors from the Workers’ Compensation Fraud Unit in the Office of the Chief State’s Attorney.
According to arrest records, Gordillo collected Workers’ Compensation benefits as a result of a work-related injury he reported suffering while on the job back in June 2017 as a janitor.
Inspectors conducted surveillance several times in October 2017, and discovered Gordillo was doing the same line of work for another cleaning company.
According to police, Gordillo is accused of collecting over $17,000 in Workers Compensation that he was not eligible to recieve.
Gordillo is facing a number of fraud and perjury charges.
