MANCHESTER, Conn. (WTNH) – Manchester officials are investigating a partial building collapse that occurred Wednesday night.

According to the Manchester Fire Department, crews responded to East Meadows Condos at 12 Thompson Road for a report of a possible partial building collapse. When crews arrived on the scene, they found a non-structural brick facade that fell from the building.

MFD says bricks from the facade damaged several cars that were parked in an adjacent lot. The building was not compromised and no residents were displaced.

“We couldn’t go anywhere. We saw practically the whole building fell down,” Andrew Oritz said. ” I read online that this is the third time this building has had bricks that fell down.”

Officials also say there were no injuries related to the incident. One firefighter did sustain an injury that was unrelated to the partial collapse, but he was since been treated and released.

Officials have not released information on the extent of the damage. News 8 is working to learn more about the incident and if there are any injuries.
