Mount Southington slopes open for season

Hartford

SOUTHINGTON, Conn. (WTNH) — With fresh powder on the ground, the Mount Southington Ski Area is officially open for the season.

Mount Southington Ski Area Office Manager and Marketing Manager Brian McCloskey spoke to News 8 about what you need to know before you hit the slopes this winter!

“The temperatures are perfect and, without a lot of wind, it makes it for a beautiful day, especially with the sun out,” he explained. “This is the best temperature for making snow because the air is dry, so you get more bang for your buck, especially with our new snow-making system.”Related Content: Ski slopes in Connecticut seeing best conditions in years, opening this weekend
