New Britain man to spend more than a decade behind bars for trafficking cocaine

A New Britain man was sentenced on Monday to more than a decade in prison for trafficking cocaine.

Court documents show 42-year-old Luis “Gordo” Cirino coordinated the shipment of cocaine from Puerto Rico to various locations in the state.

Investigators said they seized almost 30 pounds of cocaine during their investigation.

He’ll serve 11 years in federal prison followed by five years of supervised release.

Cirino also faces additional penalties for violating the conditions of his supervised release from a previous cocaine trafficking case.
