NEW BRITAIN, Conn. (WTNH)- A fire in the garage of a house in New Britain had firefighters scrambling into action early on Sunday morning.

The blaze broke out at about 1:30 a.m. in the garage of the single family home on Landers Avenue and by the time crews got to the scene, the back deck of the home and a pick up truck in the driveway had been heavily damaged.

Although the garage is being called a total loss, firefighters were able to bring the blaze under control before it could do any damage to the home. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
