PD: 2 arrested after firearm, narcotics found inside vehicle


Two people are facing charges after Hartford police said they found a firearm and narcotics inside of a motor vehicle early Sunday morning.

According to officials, around 12:10 a.m., a motor vehicle stop was conducted in the area of 65 Mansfield Street.

Police said the operator and passenger were in possession of narcotics, while a further search of the vehicle revealed a black Glock Model 19 and ammunition inside of the glove box.

Officials arrested 33-year-old Benjamin Simmons and 26-year-old Kennedy Burgess, both of Hartford.

They were charged with weapons in a motor vehicle, possession of narcotics, and other related charges.
