A man is facing charges after police say he stole a chainsaw and bag of tools from a home in Hartford.

According to authorities, officers responded to a home on Harbison Avenue for a report of a burglary in process. They say the complainant told officials that they saw a man attempt to break into the back of the home on a security camera.

When officers were on their way to the home, police say they found the suspect, 27-year-old Yamill Lopez of Hartford, walking on Zion Street with a chainsaw and bag of tools.

When police approached Lopez, they say he admitted to breaking into the rear of the home and stealing the items.

As a result, officials say Lopez was charged with burglary, criminal mischief and larceny. They say a Hartford PRAWN was issued for failure to appear and criminal trespass.
