PD: Inmate facing charges after attempting to hire another inmate to kill brother-in-law

An inmate is has been charged after he allegedly solicited other inmates to have his brother-in-law killed.

According to officials, the murder-for-hire investigation began on May 17, 2018.

On Tuesday, authorities arrested 29-year-old Joseph Arroyo. At the time of the alleged incident, Arroyo was incarcerated at the New Haven Correctional Center. He is now at a prison in Somers.

He has been charged with inciting injury to a person or property.

After being held on a $500,000 bond, Arroyo remains in the custody of the DOC and was arraigned on Wednesday.
