Pedestrian sustains severe life-threatening injuries after found lying on roadway in Manchester


The Manchester Police Department responded to a possible pedestrian versus motor vehicle incident early Wednesday morning. 

According to officers, Manchester Police, Fire, and EMS officials were dispatched to Parker Street near Utopia Road for a report of a pedestrian lying on the roadway.

Police say the victim, identified as 28-year-old Michael Taylor of Somers, was believed to have been struck by a vehicle and was found unconscious. The victim was transported to the Manchester Memorial Hospital and later transported to Hartford Hospital with severe life-threatening head injuries.

The offending vehicle left the scene prior to police arrival.

The accident is currently under investigation.
