MANCHESTER, Conn. (WTNH) – A firefighter was taken to the hospital after a fire in Manchester Wednesday.
Emergency crews responded to the fire at a two-story, single-family home on Saddle Hill Road around 3:10 p.m. after receiving multiple calls for a working fire.
Upon arrival, firefighters encountered a large single-family home with heavy fire in the back of the home and in the second floor.
According to Manchester Fire-Rescue-EMS, two people were home at the time of the fire and both were able to self-evacuate safely.
One firefighter was overcome by heat and had to be taken to the hospital. No other injuries were reported.
According to Manchester Fire-Rescue-EMS, the home is uninhabitable due to the damage.
The cause of the fire is under investigation by the Fire Marshal’s Office.
