Police investigate after middle school student hit by car in Berlin

A middle school student was taken to the hospital after he was hit by a car in Berlin on Monday morning. 

Police say that officers are investigating after the boy was struck by a car while walking on High Road between Dayl Drive and Hickory Hill Road in Berlin. 

The student was conscious and alert but sustained non life threatening injuries in the accident. He was taken to the Connecticut Children’s Medical Center for treatment. His identity has not yet been released. 

It’s unclear if the driver faces any charges. 

The road was closed for a short period of time but has since reopened. The accident remains under investigation.
